Acoustic Flooring
• New build timber frame construction The econocheck Deep Batten 75RD system is designed to reduce sound transmission through timber floors within a timber frame structure. When installed as part of a complete sound reduction system, it enables a timber floor to meet the sound transmission regulations of Part E. Applications To be used over timber floors with a timber frame or masonry facade (to hide services or accommodate underfloor heating beneath the floor) and a new resilient bar ceiling. Performance (on the two New Build Robust Detail constructions illustrated) Treated floor meets with the New Build Robust Detail descriptive FFT1, typically within Robust Detail EFT-1, EFT-2, EFT-3, EFS-2, EFC-1, EFC-7 and EFS-1. Two typical alternative constructions are shown right.
Specification The acoustic floor shall be: Econocheck Deep Batten 75RD system, manufactured by Isomass Ltd. Unit 11, Avenue Business Park, Off Brockley Road, Elsworth, Cambridgeshire, CB23 4EY and installed in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions / recommendations. Installation Fix Isomass Acoustic Flanking band at the floor perimeter. Lay econocheck Deep Batten 75RD resilient layer side down, at 400mm max. centres with 19mm plank plasterboard and 18mm chipboard flooring over. Apply adhesive to the top of the acoustic batten and lay flooring, applying adhesive to all t&g panel joints. Install skirting and trim off excess Flanking Band. Full installation instructions for econocheck Deep Batten 75RD are available upon request. These must be used in conjunction with this booklet when laying the econocheck Shallow Batten floating floor system. May also be installed in conjunction with underfloor heating systems. |
