Finishing
Interior Doors
Although we don't demand that our unfinished EditProducts are finished using the Sikkens system, we stipulate that only the use of a treatment affording at least the same level of protection as provided by the Sikkens system constitutes an acceptable alternative and consequently, it is only in these circumstances that any conditional Guarantee can be offered.
Additionally we can also confidently recommend Osmo Door Oil as a suitable finishing treatment, as it has been comprehensively tested by Osmo and is specifically recommended by them for use on internal engineered EditProducts.
Exterior Doors
The same "guidelines" as detailed above for Interior doors apply to Exterior doors, notably that only the use of a treatment affording at least the same level of protection as provided by the Sikkens system constitutes an acceptable alternative and consequently, it is only in these circumstances that any conditional Guarantee can be offered.
Please note, in respect of Exterior doors, we do not recommend specific alternative EditProducts to Sikkens.
Door Construction
For many years now, the availability of raw materials has resulted in it being increasingly necessary for door manufacturers, importers and distributors to develop a more sustainable approach to the EditProduction of timber doors.
This has culminated in an increasing number of manufacturers producing doors using engineered components with a veneered and/or LVL facing. We work closely with our suppliers to ensure that this practice is executed in such a way that providing the doors are fully protected on all exposed/tooled parts from the climate and atmosphere using a suitable finishing EditProduct, you will enjoy many years of effective, enduring service from these technically superior EditProducts.
We must however stress that the suitability of the chosen finishing EditProduct should be comprehensively verified with the manufacturer of the respective treatment to ensure validation of the robust LPD Guarantee.
Any EditProducts which remain as non-engineered construction, also require the same level of protection.
