Laying & Jointing FloorShield FR should be done on flat clean surfaces and is best laid in the longest runs possible for economy of use and ease of application. FloorShield FR joints (product to product) should be taped with Ockwells high tack flame retardant tape. When taping edges consideration should be given to the surface being protected, for example vinyl flooring, polished timber and laminated flooring should only be jointed with a Low Tack Tape Flame Retardant (FR). When taping edges to carpeted areas best results are achieved by applying Ockwells Carpet Protection Film (Non-FR) to all perimeters then applying 50mm or 75mm Ockwells high tack flame retardant tape to secure the FloorShield FR to the carpet protection film. The alternative method is to use Ockwells high/low tack exhibition tape that adheres to the underside of the FloorShield FR and then to the carpet.
